Regional Technical Sales Representative Job Opening



Job Description:


Visit customer establishments and collaborate with sales teams to understand customer requirements, to promote the sale of chemicals used to produce leather, and to provide sales support; sell products requiring extensive technical expertise and support for producing leathers of interest, stock or distribute resources, such as samples or promotional or educational materials; answer customer questions about products, prices, availability, or credit terms; compute product costs and estimate savings from new products and services; prepare and deliver technical presentations that explain products or services to customers and prospective customers; present information about energy efficiency or environmental impact of scientific or technical products; inform customers about issues related to responsibleuse and disposal of products, such as waste reduction or product or byproduct recycling or disposal; study documentation or other information for new scientific or technical products; field test new products whenever possible directly with interested customers for both feedback internally and to promote new sales; assist other sales staff when the need arises by providing technical information from past experience or assist directly on site when needed; communicate market information, competitive pricing, products, and trends and identify and promote best products for the market; report technical tannery or lab reports when appropriate; complete expense reports, sales reports, or other work; set goals for sales, strategy, and overseas travel schedule; improve the structure and function of operations in sales overseas offering constructive alternatives and implementing upon approval; participate in developing advertising inserts for trade journals; improve the content and form of the website; develop promotional materials for customers; contact existing customers, and new customers using business directories, leads from existing customers, participation in organizations, or trade shows or conference attendance, to discuss how specific products or services can meet their needs.

Requirements:

Bachelor’s degree in applied sciences or business or related field, or foreign education equivalent, and two years of experience in the job offered or in the full lifecycle of leather production, including the stages of beamhouse to finish.

Travel:

Travel required for an average of one to two weeks every other month nationwide or overseas with each trip lasting approximately two weeks

Hours:

40/week and variable hours
