Regulatory Specialist Job Opening


Job Description:

The Regulatory Specialist will provide support to management in many facets of the regulatory environment in which chemical companies operate.
The Regulatory Specialist will maintain the company’s regulatory calendar and ensure that the company stays in compliance with Global, Federal, State, and Local regulations as well as internal company policies.

Key Responsibilities

  • Restricted Substance Program
    • Active involvement in the Restricted Substances issues / programs. This includes canvass suppliers for information, maintaining a list of Restricted Substances, compiling responses and drafting response to customers.
    • Assess changes to US and global regulatory programs (REACH, ZDHC, etc.) advise and present impact reports related to these changes.
  • Safety Data Sheets and Global Harmonized System
    • Maintain all supplier raw material and sample inventory SDS
    • Author, review, log, and revise company SDS
    • Author, review, and update GHS labeling program
    • Follow all OSHA regulations
  • Facility
    • Conduct Facility inspections for all regulatory and safety programs, prepare reports with the VP of Operations and file
      • SPCC, Strom water, safety committee
    • Coordinate outside lab testing of wastewater, assist in managing wastewater treatment
    • Consult on shipping hazardous goods, manage product labels
      • IATA, IMDG, DOT
      • Maintain certification as a shipper / signer of the Hazardous Manifest
  • Chemical Management System and ISO
    • Actively manage and monitor CMS and ISO systems (9001, 14001)
  • Quality and Product Stewardship
    • Receive and review raw material CofA’s
    • Run quality control testing for finished goods
    • Generate product CofA’s
    • Generate reports, as applicable, to management to reviewing combustible inventory, non-conforming products, and expired products.

Basic Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in science or engineering or similar experience, with at least 6 years of regulatory experience.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Strong understanding of requirements for global regulatory filing (US, EU, CHN, and international)
  • Project management skills to oversee development and review meetings and responses to safety and health authority questions
  • Experience in regulatory filing
  • Excellent organizational and project management skills
  • Consistently demonstrate initiative and attention to detail
  • RAPS certificate (Regulatory Affairs Certificate)
