Beam & Tan
Considered to be the preparatory stage of leather making, the beam and tan process is critical for preparing raw hides for the
remainder of the tanning process. During the beam and tan process, unwanted raw components are removed and the skin is chemically
altered to preserve its integrity. The beam and tan process would include preservation, fleshing, soaking, liming, reliming,
deliming, unhairing, splitting, bating, degreasing, bleaching, pickling, and depickling. Chemtan offers a wide range of products
to assist customers with all of these processes.
